We are looking to expand our team with a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for defining, deploying, and continuously improving our manufacturing assembly processes and procedures.  This role will also be responsible for ensuring proper capacity for the department and working to drive substantial productivity on existing products as well as extensive focus on integrating new products successfully into the department.   If you are confident, highly motivated, and constantly learning then you are who we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and/or transitions new and/or improved processes to manufacturing, which includes the preparation of procedures, work instructions, and other manufacturing documentation.

  • Provides on-site assistance for troubleshooting, quality improvements, capability issues, productivity improvement, and capital purchases.

  • Evaluate, develop and deploy automation systems into manufacturing where applicable.

  • Engineers tools, fixtures, and gauging modifications. Designs and implements quality improvement systems and error-proofing.

  • Maintains and updates tooling drawings.

  • Utilizes Industrial Engineering techniques and Lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, improving productivity, and ensuring safe and ergonomic working conditions.

  • Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facilities, making recommendations, and working with the operations team to integrate solutions.

  • Define and maintain cycle times and machine rates for the production floor.

  • Provide clarification and training to technicians and inspectors to accomplish pertinent processes.

  • Review and provide feedback on new product designs and engineering changes from a process engineering and design for manufacturability perspective.

  • Coordinate initiation of design engineering changes based on issues encountered in Manufacturing.

  • Additional responsibilities may include facility personnel and production planning and execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years experience developing and deploying assembly processes in manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate automation systems such as robotics, PLC’s and camera-based vision systems.

  • Proficient with CAD-based software.

  • Experience with BOM structures, work instructions, standard work, change management, and deviation processes, and material disposition.

  • Capable of performing time studies and line balancing.

  • Ability to be self-directed for most daily activities.

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and planning skills.

  • Demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 requirements.

  • Experience developing and implementing manufacturing test solutions.

  • Assembly experience with circuit boards and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Test, and Automation.

  • MRP/MES and other manufacturing systems knowledge/experience.
